Decoupling TCP from IP with Multipath TCP
Olivier Bonaventure, UCL
Multipath TCP (RFC6824) is a major TCP extension that allows a TCP connection to use several interfaces simultaneously. This tutorial will present the key features of Multipath TCP and how middleboxes have affected its design. Many of the lessons learned while designing Multipath TCP have an operational impact and will influence the evolution of the Internet protocols. The tutorial ends with an explanation of the benefits of using Multipath TCP in datacenters, on smartphones and on dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 hosts.
